<p>x    Are you craving balance in your life? Because I have a smart tip that&#8217;s gonna center you, ground you, and keep you calm and relaxed. A great tool that I like to use, and I like to recommend to my clients, is meditation. And meditation is great because you get to calm yourself and stay focused on your needs and really check in with yourself. I would recommend to my clients, if they&#8217;ve never done meditation before, to take 3 minutes and just try to lie down in a quiet area, closing your eyes, and breathing, relaxed and calm, and letting the visual of clouds coming in and letting your thoughts just sit on the clouds and float far away, to where you find yourself just feeling relaxed and calm and balanced. <p>x     Have you ever received an email informing you that you had lost your job, or the promotion or raise you were promised did not come through? There is a better way to communicate bad news at work and I&#8217;ll explain how in today&#8217;s smart tip. If you want happy, productive employees, it is very important that you use the appropriate channel for the topic when communicating with them. It&#8217;s become much easier to send an email, a text, or a memo when communicating with employees. If you have any kind of bad news to deliver, whether it is to one person, or to the entire company, it needs to be communicated face-to-face. Employees feel you don&#8217;t care about them if you send them an email telling them their project was cancelled, they aren&#8217;t getting that vacation or raise they were expecting, or worst of all they are being downsized out of the company. Emails, texts, and memos are better suited for informing people that a meeting time has been changed or cancelled, or any other messages that are not likely to cause a strong emotional reaction. Any message that could be considered bad news or would likely upset someone should be delivered in person. Then, you can also discuss it with them, answer any questions, and alleviate their anxieties. That won&#8217;t happen in an email. <p>x     We&#8217;ve all heard how important it is to stay hydrated, but let&#8217;s be honest &#8211; how many of us actually get the recommended 64 ounces of water per day? I&#8217;m going to show you a quick and easy recipe that tastes great, it&#8217;s gong to make you want to drink all the water you can, and it will also impress your friends! Today I&#8217;m going to show you my version of spa water. Now If you&#8217;ve ever stayed at a nice hotel or gone to a resort, you may have had something similar. Let me show you how easy it is. First you get a simple pitcher of water &#8211; filtered water is best. And really, the base of it is: lemon, cucumber and mint, but we&#8217;re going to add a few extra items. When I make this, I like to start off with a few slices of cucumber, followed by a few lemon slices. When I&#8217;ve gone to the spa, this is usually what it consists of is: lemon and cucumber and mint. We can put a little mint in there &#8211; the fresh mint has wonderful aroma and the oil just infuses with the water. But not only can you just have this basic recipe, but it&#8217;s wonderful to use other fruit that&#8217;s in season &#8211; I&#8217;ve got some blood oranges here. It&#8217;s always great to add berries &#8211; they add antioxidants to the mixture and also a lot of great flavor. And by the way, you can use any fruit that&#8217;s in season. After it&#8217;s chilled for about an hour, it&#8217;s ready to serve. And if you&#8217;re having friends over, you can make it even a little more fun by adding a nice garnish of mint and lemon.
